National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need. Leave your donation of non-perishable food items next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 14th. In Lee County donations will benefit the local food pantry at the Christian United Outreach Center.

Red Branch Baptist in Carthage is celebrating 100 years. The church is inviting everyone to a Centennial Celebration on May 15th at 10:30. The Lumber River Quartet will be followed by Dr. Chris Dickerson.

Pesticide Collection Day

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, in cooperation with the Moore County Cooperative Extension, will be offering a Pesticide Collection Day for residents in Moore County and surrounding counties. Collection will be Wednesday, May 18th from 10 to 2 in the parking lot of the Moore County Agricultural Center.

Tramway Baptist Church Plate Sale

Tramway Baptist Church in Sanford is having their spring plate sale by drive-thru on Friday, May 20th from 11 AM until it’s gone. Plates include ½ BBQ chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, dinner roll, and cookie. All for an 8-dollar donation to the building fund.

Southern Pines Police Department Traffic and Safety Awareness

The Southern Pines Police Department is organizing a traffic and safety awareness event on May 21st from 11 to 3 in the rear traffic loop of the Sandhills Community College.  There will be a vehicle and equipment display, demonstrations, interactive events, and food vendors. The public is invited to attend and participate in this event.

Sandhills Detachment of the Marine Corps League Pig-Piking

Calling all Marines and their family to join the Sandhills Detachment of the Marine Corps League for a Pig-Piking picnic to be held on Saturday, May 21st from 11 to 3 at the Aberdeen Lake Picnic Shelter. Come join your fellow Marines to learn more about the detachment activities.

Star United Methodist Church Spring Fest

Star United Methodist Church will be having Spring Fest on Saturday, May 21st. The event starts at 3:00 with an auction and spaghetti meal. Proceeds will go to Missions in the Community.
