(2025) Episode 10 – For Barbara Allred, serving her community has always been a calling. A former nurse born and raised in Aberdeen, Barbara grew up in a home where reading and writing were important. When she recognized the community’s need for a library that could truly serve everyone – from young readers to lifelong learners – she spent the next eleven years working passionately to make that vision a reality. She led the “Friends of the Aberdeen Library”, the volunteer committee behind the project, and they will celebrate the opening of the new library in January of 2025 – a dream come true.
