The Sandhills Natural History Society will meet Monday, November 25, at 7 pm at the Weymouth Woods Auditorium on Ft. Bragg Road in Southern Pines. Jeff Marcus, Biologist with The Nature Conservancy in North Carolina, will share photos and information about the wildlife and ecology of the Maasai Mara grasslands in southwest Kenya and discuss conservation efforts underway to protect this unique and globally important ecosystem. Joseph Konvicka, an environmental educator based out of The Triangle, will discuss notable local mushrooms (including choice edible species), their ecology and basic identification. VISITORS WELCOME!
