Amateur radio has the unique capability to provide communications when no other means are available. For reliable, alternative communications or an enjoyable hobby, take a look at amateur/ham radio. Moore County has an active amateur radio club, the Moore County Amateur Radio Society. The annual field day weekend is Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 at the Larry R. Caddell Public Safety Training Center on Niagara Carthage Road in Carhtage. Meetings are open to all interested, you do not have to be a ham to attend.
